Kent Parks would like to thank Mother Africa and Falis Community Services for their help recruiting participants and facilitating in-language survey administration to our community members.
The Springwood Park Engagement Round 1 was the first time the website EngageKentParks.com was used to facilitate most of the engagement for a project. This was also the beginning of in-person engagement activities and use of kiosks for engagement purposes. Through these efforts we received the following response:
- 116 on-line survey responses,
- 31 on-line vision board comments
- 102 in-field staff-public interactions
- 1,291 in-field vision board comment
The results from those efforts are as follows.
Kiosk: The kiosk vision boards were divided into Character, Amenities, and Activities, the results will be divided the same way. These were posted on the kiosk and EngageKentParks.com for 8 weeks. The signage in the park was monitored every 3 days photographed, results recorded, and replaced if needed. The in-field sessions were conducted on 2 week-day evenings and 1 weekend day. During the in-person sessions 102 people interreacted with staff and participated in the vision board activity. These people were a diverse mix of races, ethnicities, primary language spoken, and wide range of ages. Full kiosk results are shown in Appendix A.
